Gay Love Phuket!
Many a gay love Phuket: it is so much fun!
The first thing you notice when you start exploring Phuket is the Russians: they are everywhere! I was not aware of their massive presence (by the way, I am not complaining :p ) so it felt like a bit of a surprise to realize I was a guest in their colony!
Where is Phuket?
Phuket is the biggest island of Thailand. It is located in the Andaman Sea, on the Thai west coast, less than one thousand kilometers south of Bangkok. It is easy to reach Phuket from everywhere in Thailand, either via bus, train, or plane. I flew into Phuket’s big airport, coming from Koh Lipe, and left again from there to hrad to Bangkok.
The infamously wordwide well known Phuket’s nightlife happen in the western side of the island, in the town of Patong. Let’s be honest: the town itself is horrible! A lot of concrete and ugly buildings line up with no solution of continuity just in front of the ocean.
By contrast, Patong’s beach is kind of unique: 3.5 kilometres of white sand make it a great place where to relax and sunbathe! Its water is crystalline and a pleasure to swim in. The only issue of the beach itself is the many water sports happening in the sea: no, not that kind of water sports!!! Everywhere you have to be careful not to be run over by a banana boat, a waterscooter… anyway it is good fun and the areas dedicated to these kind of water fun are very well indicated, so just be careful where you decide to swim!
Unfortunately I spent in Phuket only a couple of days, so I did not get a chance to explore further: I have heard Patong is surrounded by many better and more beautiful beaches. Good to know for next time
The greatest feature of Patong beach? The sun sets down right in front of it… what a better place for a romantic date, while sipping mojitos?
If you are a straight tpurist, you have to know that most of the entertainment happen along and around Bangla Road: you will have plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs to choose from, and to keep you going until early in the morning.
In my opinion to enjoy the best food you should head to the main market, just a few hundred meters north of the beach. There is plenty of food to choose from! And very fresh fish too, most of it still alive! The many stalls that can cook it for you, exactly the way you want it!
But why many a gay love Phuket so much? Keep following Scruffy Gios and you will find that out very soon!
