Visit Indonesia: why you MUST!
Have you ever thought of to visit Indonesia?
Indonesia is a huge country! It is the world’s largest island country, an archipelago that spreads over 5.000 km between Australia and the Asian mainland: it comprises over 17.000 islands!
Indonesia is also one of the most populated countries in the world: over 250 million people live in its amazing islands. I visited a few different places of this huge country, hopping from an island to the other to visit its wonderful places: the Gili Islands, Bali, Jogjakarta, Jakarta… I discovered a country with plenty of different opportunities! It is its unique diversity that makes Indonesia an unrivaled destination for your perfect holidays!
Indonesia is a Muslim country, the world’s most populated one. The practice of Islam, though, has been mitigated by centuries of interactions with other religions: Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim traditions all live together in the country. Indonesia is a melting pot of different customs that coexist, side by side. That is why in Indonesia you can easily find any type of holidays you want.
If you are interested in a laid-back holiday, white-sand beaches, blue waters in a tropical environment, you have plenty of options! My suggestion: head to Gili Air, one of the Gili islands, just off the northwest coast of the island of Lombok. You can get there from Bali, in a couple of hours by high speed boat: on this small island you can find both a secluded atmosphere and some party life.
If you are looking for a party holidays, some surfing on high waves, beach huts, good food, resorts with nice swimming pool (and great drinks!) you should definitely head to the island of Bali. Bali is the most touristic Indonesian island: in the areas of Kuta and Seminyak, you can enjoy a vibrant nightlife, great bars, clubs on the beach, amazing surfing during the day and good vibe at night. And a fun gay life too!
If you fancy some relax and meditation, you should visit the ancient cultural capital of Jogjakarta. This is the ideal base to head both to the wonderful Buddhist stupa of Borobudur, the biggest in the world, and the amazing Hindu temple of Prambanan.
If you love modern history, and you are keen on making your own critical judgments by visiting historical buildings and museums, no place is better than the frenetic capital of Indonesia, Jakarta. You will discover a chaotic yet fascinating city full of history and culture.
